Toolbox

From 9 to 15 years of age I spent my summers with my grandfather in South Carolina. These were the best three months of my life at that age. I spend most of the time fixing my go-cart I destroyed daily, driving golf balls into the woods only the have my grandfather yell at me because gold balls apparently cost money, farming with him and my cousins or helping him fixing something I wish he left where ever he found it.

You might ask where these tools came into play, well Mr. Boyd loves to fix and create. He sometimes makes custom furniture, decks and does electrical work. Considering my grandfather only went to school until 6th grade and didn't learn to read until I was 13 using Hooked on Phonics, he found a way to make a living for his family and himself. I love my grandfather, his drive for success and constant encouragement regardless of whatever I wanted to accomplish in life.

Although there are hundreds of tools, parts and.....things, he could tell you exactly where.....it is.

Some people make it look so easy!

Professional models are always fun to shoot, but my some of my favorite people to photograph are regular people. People who never though "they" could come across just as beautiful, just as sexy and surprise themselves in the end. This was exactly the case with Brandee. Cool girl, proud mom, always smiling and full of energy. She came to the table with her own thoughts and ideas. She knew what she wanted and only needed my pointer finger to press the trigger.......ok and a couple lights. Although she knew what she wanted, it doesn't mean there we no butterfly for her. Never having been in a boudoir shoot and showing yourself to someone you barely know can be a little scarey, understandably. After a short chat and reassuring her, she forgot I was even around!

Just A Dash of Color

Not to long ago I informed my friend Toronda "where shooting today," and that's what happen. Sometimes you just gotta show em who's boss. All jokes aside, I had a couple great ideas for a shoot and she loved them. So the journey began. I needed to get her make-up done so over to the M.A.C. store at Lenox Mall in Buckhead we went and met up with Make-Up Artist AJ. She not only did a great job but is an amazing person, down to earth and listen to my needs for the shoot. (Connect with here on Instagram @ayejeezytk.) I even took some time to find some nice color combinations while AJ was handling some other things. I'm no make-up artist but I know a thing or two about colors I like. Make-up, lights and poses. We made it happen.
