Publish image in Dark Beauty Magazine

I love being able to create beautiful imagery with amazing people. Sara Naomi happens to be one of those amazing people. Collectively we have put in some long hours, a ton of shoots together and this is one of our beautiful creations that has been published in Dark Beauty Magazine. But wait there's more! Seriously there is a lot more from this series and other series we have shot together. I'm sure I will be able to share more from this and other series in the near future. Enjoy.

Take it to the streets

On this night, our model Kristen (IG: @kristen_x33), make-up artist and hair stylist Allen (IG: @jallenstylz) and myself found a couple cool locations that fit the bill. Being Kristen is from New York I wanted to give her a small taste and appeal of her home town by shooting near flashing lights and a street backdrop. It's no New York City street but I used what was available to capture her in her element. Underneath a harden exterior that rarely smiles is a beautiful women that loves to show who she really is once the opportunity present itself. As a photographer I understand that it's not always about what I want, but instead giving what's necessary to place a beautiful smile on someone's face and Kristen has that now.

Sold!

Within hours of meeting actress and model Candace Harris we had our first shoot together. Within days of our first shoot, a well known local Atlanta Company Based Company offered to purchase the photograph we created to use in their year long campaign. We are pretty excited to have such a beautiful accomplishment and blessing. I will not spill all the beans just yet on who they are but don't be surprised if you see it, I will be sure to keep you in the loop. Created with Make-Up Artist Allen Jones.

Published in Yes Yes Magazine

3 models in 1 magazine! Love it. I was very grateful to get 3 wonderful models in this months issue of Yes Yes Magazine. Ida Wolda (IG: @niniida), Tory Banks (IG: @__tdene) and Recquel Mack (IG: @onefocusedmodel). I had three very different shoots with these models over the past couple of months and it was well worth our time. They each have different styles and taste for modeling. I'm happy I was able to capture them and collectively create beautiful imagery. I look forward to working with these and other talented models in the near future so we too can land on a newsstands in your neighborhood. The Make-up Artist that helped to make this possible were De'keria Olriedge and Allen Jones.

Hidden Tears of a Princess - The Book

I'm excited to release my second book! This book was created and captured to express the emotional roller coaster that happen in many individuals lives when they are not able to share their emotions to the outside world. We all fall down at some point from love, lost, hardship and burdens. That moment when you are no longer able to deal with anyone or anything else, you have to step away and handle your issue(s) the best way you can. I happen to capture it through photography, with model Princess. She was willing to be a part of this amazing experience by allowing herself to let go of all emotions within, while being one with the experience. She's a true natural and true artist. She really helped to make this book possible!

Published Accomplishment

For months Katherine Del Rosario (Model), Melanie DeFrance (MUA) and myself have put in so many early mornings, late nights, and no sleep simply to create. Well after 2 months and 30 plus looks, we made one of many accomplishments to come. Collectively we have made the cover and inside of a new magazine based out of Atlanta, GA called Yes Yes Magazine. This is only their third issue, but I'm very happy we are apart of the early life of this magazine. I know this is only the beginning of more published work from all three of these talents both collectively and separately.

Thank You...

Today I reached a 1000 Fans on my Facebook Fan Page. I'm pretty excited to about that. I need to thank the fans of my page and those that have engaged with me, asked question and allowed me to help them with their concerns. If there is something about me you should know, I love to help other photographers get the shot they are looking for. No one can do it alone. No one. I too would not have this small success without all the help from great customers, models, make-up artist, designers and photographer friends!

As my close friend Velvet Lanae said I'm passionate about my work.

What most people are not aware of is the amount of work I don't get to share. Some work is private and some work is for the purpose of publication, but I can assure you that you have only seen a taste of what I have to offer. Within the next month I will have my second book on the iTunes store and even larger scale elaborate work to share. Go tell a friend to come play with us. I never upset...

Thank you again!

Just a quick note...

There are a lot of long nights with little to no sleep in my very near future! I actually love working throughout the night, I always have. When I'm not shooting I spend a great deal of time researching cameras, lens, locations, experimenting with lights, gels, papers, canvas, strobes, flashes and editing. Although new software, actions and presets come out daily it doesn't mean everything is going to work in your favor, but you have to try in order to know.

I have always been into fashion, personal attire and styling. Which is partially the reason I do most of the shopping for my shoots or at least style what has been brought to a shoot by the models I work with. Most guys I know hate even going to mall, but I could walk around one all day putting looks together and I have! This works out pretty well for the ladies I date...(hint, hint.)

On many occasions when working with new models, photographers or a client, they are not fully aware of the work that is involved to produce a great shoot. From hair, makeup, photography and post production, there are a great deal of hands in the pot and everyone's roles is just as important.

Over the past 4 months I have collectively produced some great work with other artist and I hope to share them with you soon!

Give me space.....NOW!

As much as I absolutely love photography, I hate searching for space. Any digital photographer would agree, you can run out of space very quickly. Each of my shoots can utilizing a 8-32 gigs of space. So lets say I shot, 3 to 5 model or portrait sessions in a week, that would be anywhere from 32 - 94 gigs in a week. YEEEAAA, not really. Keep in mind I'm only speaking of unedited imagery. In a months time, that's anywhere from 400 gigs up to and to a terabyte (a lot of damn room). Regardless of what you use, your computers hard drive or external hard drive(s), it's imperative to backup everything you have to at least 2 additional locations. CD, DVD, Blue-ray, another external, cloud or server it doesn't really matter just back it up.

I find this a little odd but there are some photographers that purchase new memory cards for each shoot!!! Hey if it works for you then do it.

So it looks as if it's time for me to upgrade from external drives and migrate to a complete raid system. It's a little pricy but at least I can't tell you........."there was accident and my (strange animal's name here) ate my memory card, which had your images on it. So....yeahhhhh"

So my internet search continues for the right choice.

KISS (Keep It Simple)

It was a last minute shoot that left a lasting impression. Auriana came ready and in no time we were done. Our goal was simple...lets keep it.....simple. She still had a full night ahead of her so I had to pull it all together in less than a hours notice. Fortunately we were on the same page and made everything work out for the best!
